The Fangio Foundation and Sir Jackie Stewart Unite for a Noble Cause in Monaco
As part of the 75th anniversary of Formula 1 and coinciding with the historic Monaco Grand Prix, a very special auction will take place, organized by F1® Authentics – under license from Formula 1® – in support of the charity Race Against Dementia, founded by the legendary Sir Jackie Stewart.
The highlight of this auction is an official replica of Juan Manuel Fangio’s helmet, one of the most revered icons in the world of motorsport. This helmet was personally presented to Sir Jackie Stewart by the Fangio Foundation in 2024 as a symbol of the strong bond between the two champions. Fangio was a mentor and inspiration to Stewart, who considers him not only a hero but also a dear friend.
The auction will be part of the Masters of Monaco campaign, promoted by F1® Authentics, which will offer items of high historical value during Monaco GP week. This tribute is especially meaningful as it commemorates Fangio’s victory at the very first Monaco Grand Prix in 1950, a moment that left an everlasting mark on racing history.
Stewart shared: “Fangio was more than my hero – he was a true gentleman, a friend who honored me with his respect. To have this auction in Monaco, exactly 75 years after his first victory here, is a truly emotional moment for me.”
The Fangio Foundation, committed to preserving the legacy of the five-time world champion, is proud that this meaningful piece will contribute to such an important cause as Race Against Dementia, which tirelessly supports research into this condition that affects millions of people worldwide, including Stewart’s wife, Helen.
This charitable act not only symbolizes the deep admiration between motorsport legends but also highlights Formula 1’s commitment to impactful human causes.
