Visit to the Pirelli Foundation in Milan
As part of the program organized by The way of Fangio in Italy we visited the Fondazione Pirelli to continue the content collaboration work and to renew pre-existing agreements between the institutions.
Since 2008, at the request of the company and the Pirelli family, the Pirelli Foundation has kept documentation on the history of the company from its founding in 1872 to the present.The Pirelli Foundation implements numerous activities to enhance the company's assets, such as curating publications, organizing exhibitions and conferences, as well as guided tours in which thousands of people participate each year, also taking advantage of the collaboration of other cultural institutions. Each year, the Foundation carries out research activities, in support of business management and academics at national and international level, in fields ranging from economic and industrial history to architecture, from the history of labor and industrial relations to graphics and design. The Foundation also operates in the field of training, with courses aimed at all schools of different levels and levels and universities, with the main objective of introducing even the youngest to the world of production and work, bringing them closer to the values foundations of the Group's corporate culture.Pirelli Foundation, ten years of exhibitions
The organization of thematic exhibitions – often in collaboration with other cultural institutions – is one of the tools that the Pirelli Foundation has used since its birth to disseminate the company's history. The first exhibition took place in 2008: Un viaggio, ma… (a trip, but…), and was hosted by the Milan Triennale. It explored the Pirelli Cinturato advertising campaigns in the sixties and seventies, and included final pieces and sketches made by some prominent names in graphic design, such as Bob Noorda (present during the opening ceremony), Pino Tovaglia and Alan Fletcher.
