Launch of the Edox Sportsman – Automatic Chronograph – Tribute to Fangio
Edox partners with the Juan Manuel Fangio Foundation to present a Limited Edition of 115 pieces in honor of the Five-Time World Champion.
Buenos Aires, June 24, 2025 — Swiss watchmaker Edox announces its partnership with the Juan Manuel Fangio Foundation for the launch of a Limited Edition of 115 pieces, created as a tribute to the legendary Argentine driver. The official unveiling took place at Michelangelo, the iconic San Telmo restaurant, during the celebration of Juan Manuel Fangio’s birthday anniversary.
The collaboration stems from Edox's admiration for the legendary figure of Juan Manuel Fangio, a global symbol of motorsport. This exclusive Limited Edition reinforces a natural alignment with the brand: Edox has a long-standing tradition in motorsport timing, having served as official timekeeper for events such as the WRC, Dakar Rally, and having partnered with the Sauber F1 Team. Today, it maintains a relationship with BMW Motorsport. Fangio remains the ultimate icon of the sport, and both Edox and Fangio share a view of time as a decisive tool in achieving peak performance.
The number of pieces — 115 — is symbolic, marking the number of years Fangio would have turned in 2026, emphasizing the commemorative nature of the edition. Fangio’s signature on the dial stands as an enduring mark of the bond between Edox and the legendary champion. Each timepiece is individually numbered and presented in a special case, accompanied by graphic elements referencing Fangio’s career. The design balances technical innovation with stylistic nods to classic racing aesthetics.
During his visit to Argentina, which included a tour of the Juan Manuel Fangio Museum the weekend prior to the launch, Alexandre Strambini, CEO of Edox & Vista S.A., stated:
“Fangio represents the very best of the competitive spirit, but also the precision and nobility that make motorsport great. For Edox, a brand with decades of connection to this sport, it is an honor to pay tribute through a piece that reflects our watchmaking heritage and values. This partnership with the Juan Manuel Fangio Foundation is deeply meaningful to us and to everyone who values the legacy of the greats.”
The partnership with the Juan Manuel Fangio Foundation, which has preserved and promoted his legacy through the Fangio Museum and various cultural initiatives since 1986, marks a significant milestone for Edox globally and within top-level motorsport.
