A sculpture of the Daimler 1886 donated to the Museum
The act of delivery was made in the offices of the Central House of Mercedes-Benz Argentina in Munro, by the then president Roland Zey.
Mercedes-Benz Argentina donated to the Fangio Museum a replica of Daimler's first vehicle to be exhibited at the Balcarce Museum. The particular work of 70 x 120 millimeters is a miniature reproduction of the "Daimler Motor Carriage". It is a collector's item manufactured in 1986 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first four-wheel vehicle patented by Daimler. The specimen was in the hands of Mercedes-Benz Argentina until the donation to the Museum was defined, as a reaffirmation of the solid bond between the Company and the iconic F1 champion, Juan Manuel Fangio. The history of the replica goes back to the first motorized four-wheeler, the famous motor-driven carriage created in 1886 by Gottlieb Daimler, which was part of the vehicle revolution. During the event, Roland ZEY, President of MB Argentina, affirmed in a few words the continuity on the protagonist of the change and of leaving an imprint in the constant form in the history of the humanity. And if we refer to bequests, it is impossible not to mention Fangio. This action symbolizes this great and exciting history of the automobile, which will have continuity and will be part of the heritage of the Fangio Museum. The meeting was attended by the President of the Fangio Foundation, Arch. Antonio MANDIOLA, Mr. Juan CARLI (Treasurer) and the vocal Juan DUCKWITZ. Also present were representatives of the Mercedes-Benz Club of Argentina that bears the name of the quintuple: President Aby JAKTER, Vice-President Roque STEFANELLI, Secretary Julio RISUCCI, Treasurer Eduardo MONFRINI and Alejandro ARSLANIAN. On behalf of Mercedes-Benz Argentina were present Roland ZEY (outgoing President), Manuel MANTILLA (Director of Marketing and Sales Vans Argentina and successor to the position of President as of May 1), Raúl BARCESAT (Senior Manager of Sales and Marketing Trucks & Buses), Christian CASTRO (Treasury Manager), Carlos GARCÍA (Managing Director Marketing & Sales Vans Latina & Head AS), Sebastian GYSIN (Senior Sales and Marketing Manager), Christian KIMELMAN (Marketing and Sales Director Argentina), Rodrigo LANDI (CFO Mercedes-Benz Argentina & Head of Finance and controlling Vans Latina), Fernando SAN MARTÍN (Senior Sales Manager, Marketing & Insurance), Diego TYBUREC (Human Resources Director of Mercedes-Benz Argentina) and David VELAZQUEZ (President of Mercedes -Benz Financial Company).
